Supellex is a design group and was founded in 2010 by James Parker and Jeffrey van den Bergh. We design and manufacture furniture. One of our fundamental aims is to produce goods that endure, that can be passed down from owner to owner. To this aim we are obliged to review very methodically the production methods, the design details and the materials we utilize. It is our finished product’s inherent quality of material, workmanship and design which ultimately determines our reputation and success.
Where possible we are sure to adhere to sustainable materials and manufacturing methods. This is an especially important issue in our large range of solid timber products. Every piece of timber we utilize comes from Forestry Stewardship Council regulated sources. That means that the raw material, the timber and rattan are grown and harvested according to the FSC guidelines that ensure environmental sustainability. The finishes on our timber products – oil and wax – are organic and are derived from natural materials. The synthetic rattans we utilize are UV proof and recyclable.
This year we are hoping to further develop our lighting products and add some new pieces to our rattan range. Engage with us on tumblr and facebook to see new products being previewed. These sites include a very large range of imagery explaining our products and are updated on an almost daily basis. You can also download our extensive product catalogue.
